Turnkey Solution for the Mauritius Police Force - Crime Occurrence Tracking System (COTS)

The Mauritius Police Force (MPF) is forging towards an enhanced customer-centered service for peace, security and order in the Republic of Mauritius. As part of this process, the MPF has decided to use emerging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions to provide an effective and efficient system to track and combat crime occurrence in the country.
Consequently, the MPF selected the State Informatics Limited (SIL), as the successful bidder, for the implementation of the Crime Occurrence Tracking System (COTS).
The COTS project has 2 key objectives:
- Process Automation: MPF have processes to respond to the demands of law enforcement. Automating these processes is key to aiding crime occurrence tracking.
- Intelligence: While automating the processes, MPF will have the necessary intelligence to keep track on the progress of cases. The available intelligence will also help to resolve criminal cases.
In order to provide the best possible solutions and services to the MPF, SIL is implementing a CRM Base as the core solution for COTS, deployed on a High Availability Cluster Architecture System.
SIL has implemented other major projects for the MPF, namely the Immigration and Border Control System for the Passport & Immigration Office, Automated Fingerprint Identification System and the Crime Attributes Database (CADB) for the Crime Records Office. SIL has also designed and developed the Firearm Index Management System, Remote Query System, Extension of Police Network and the Computerization of the Police Administration for the MPF.
SIL was selected to deliver the COTS solution based on its knowledge and experience of both the MPF and the Public Sector at large.
