Tuesday 6th November, 2009
The Central Procurement Board (CPB) of the Republic of Mauritius has selected the State Informatics Limited (SIL) for the implementation of a turnkey solution for the computerisation of the CPB.
The mission of the Central Procurement Board (CPB) is to ensure the timely, cost-effective and transparent acquisition of goods, services and works for the public sector and to the benefit of the population of the Republic of Mauritius. To achieve this mission the CPB requires a solution to manage, analyze and leverage the large amounts of information, both structured and unstructured (MS office documents, paper documents, images, etc) and in a manner that is simple, efficient, comprehensive yet cost-effective.
In order to provide the best possible solutions and services to CPB, SIL will implement the following:
- Document Management System (DMS) / WorkFlow Management Software
- Financial System
- Human Resource (HR) and Payroll Systems
SIL will also implement CPB’s email solution and the overall hardware and networking infrastructure.
SIL understands that CPB requires a robust and secure system having among other attributes: scalability, reliability, stability, manageability and performance. With this in mind and to enable CPB to achieve a low cost of ownership, the core of the solution (application software, system software and Database) is based on Microsoft Technology. The tunrkey solution uses the latest trends in computer and networking equipment and peripherals from recognized suppliers.
SIL is confident that the solution to be implemented will improve the operational efficiency and reduce task duplication at CPB. The solution will also enable CPB, at all levels, to make optimum use of its resources. The system will deliver secure, focused and pertinent information to entitled end-users as well as facilitate communication in a secure environment. |
