Companies & Business Registration Integrated System (CBRIS)

The CBRIS solution addresses all the major functional areas of the Companies Division, Partnership   Division and Business Registration of companies’ registration organisations. This solution has proved to be very efficient and has shown significant improvement in the processing time of incorporation of companies and registration of businesses and partnerships.

SIL first developed and implemented the Companies & Business Registration Integrated System for the Republic of Mauritius. The Registrar of Companies of Botswana and the Registrar of Companies of Namibia have also adopted the CBRIS.

Integrated Tax Administration Solution (ITAS)

SIL has achieved successful implementation of SAP-based Integrated Tax Administration Solution (ITAS) for Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) ITAS brings to Mauritius Revenue Authority new tools for collecting, analysing and processing information regarding all categories of taxes (except those of Customs) in the Republic of Mauritius. The newly implemented system sets up and integrates databases from different departments of MRA, so as to enhance efficiency to the advantage of the revenue organisation and of taxpayers alike. ITAS comprises of back-office systems as well as a web portal for taxpayers.

Crime Occurrence Tracking System (COTS)

The COTS has been set up by SIL to equip the Mauritius Police Force (MPF) with state-of the- art ICT solutions providing an effective and efficient system to track and combat crime occurrence in the Republic of Mauritius. COTS provides new tools for data capture and sharing (with different levels of access to stored data) and for workflow optimisation. SIL has implemented other major projects for the MPF.

The COTS has 2 key objectives:

• Process Automation: The MPF has processes to respond to the demands of law enforcement. Automating these processes is key to aiding crime occurrence tracking.
• Intelligence: While automating the processes, the MPF will have the necessary intelligence to keep track on the progress of cases. The available intelligence will also help to resolve criminal cases.

Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS)

The IFMS by SIL greatly improves the Finance Ministries’ control over funds release. IFMS contains information that can be presented in a variety of ways that will help governments to make informed decisions, in their management process. SIL first implemented the IFMS for the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Mauritius. The system was also implemented for the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Namibia and for the Government of the Republic of Kenya.

Pension Benefits System

SIL’s Pension Benefits System is the essential software component for efficient and quick operations of pension schemes. It allows for tailor-made optimisation of the critical processes that are money collection from employers and monitoring of pre-payments and arrears. Provisions are made for returns to be collected on an annual basis. The Pension Benefits System is used by the Governments of Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Burundi.

Immigration Border Control System

The Immigration and Border Control System by SIL is a comprehensive, flexible and user oriented, proven software which caters for multiple ports of entry. It is specially designed for rapid customisation and deployment that results in a robust and a full-fledged end product. It consists of Border Control, Visa & Permits Processing, Travel Document, Citizenship, Administration, Office Automation, Controversial/Black list and a tightly integrated Document Management and Work Flow system. This solution was implemented for the Passport and Immigration Office of the Government of the Republic of Mauritius.

Vehicle Management System

This Vehicle management system by SIL caters for the Registration, Transfer and Licence Payment of Vehicles as well as vehicle registration payment. The application system covers the input of vehicle origin, its owners, duty, lessee & Proxy, Lien, Vehicle Insurance, fitness and examination, notification of sale and objection of sales. It is used by the Government of the Republic of Mauritius.

Court System

SIL’s Court System is an on-line system which has been implemented in the Republic of Mauritius to cater for the functions performed by the magistrates, court officers and ushers of the Civil and Criminal (Correctional) Divisions of the District, Industrial and Intermediate Courts.

The Court System also comprises of modules to manage tutors money deposited by the public. It also has a Judge Information module to keep track of the details of the judges. It also has a set of functions to manage the Court Library.

Registry System

The Registry System by SIL is a file tracking system which manages incoming and outgoing mails. It has functionalities and reporting capabilities that cover most of the activities of a Registry. It caters for multiple registries with each registry having its own file index structure operating independently and also provides the facilities to transfer files/mails among them. It provides better control on movement of files and faster access to registry files. Queries and Reports on the registries are also available. This system has been implemented for many parastatal bodies in the Republic of Mauritius.

Blood Transfusion System

Blood transfusion is crucial to saving the life of an individual. The challenge of the Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) is to provide the citizens of Mauritius with blood which is pure and free from contamination in a timely, organized and methodical way.

The SIL computerized the BTS through the supply of world-class application software and supporting Hardware and Network infrastructure to replace the existing paper based operations with an automated environment which allows blood collection, testing, processing, storing and distribution.
