State Informatics Limited (SIL) is a state owned company that has emerged as a leading service provider in Information & Communication Technology in Mauritius and the region.
SIL has played a key role in the evolution and application of IT in Mauritius. Being at the forefront of the latest technology, SIL has been deploying IT systems for both public and private institutions.
Our successful strategic partnership with leaders of the IT industry, namely Oracle, SUN Microsystems, Microsoft, Symantec, IBM, EMC2 and Cisco, has further enabled us to transfer technology at an accelerated pace to Mauritius and the African region. Thus, SIL has been a leading contributor in the development of IT in Mauritius.
History of SIL
SIL was set up in 1989 to design and implement IT applications for the government of Mauritius. Since then, SIL has diversified its range of products and services and also extended its market coverage to provide services in the sub-Saharan region.

Our commitment to quality is the cornerstone of our approach to constantly deliver timely, cost effective and world class solutions and services.
In this pursuit of excellence, SIL won the Mauritius Quality Institute (MQI) 2002 "Award for Quality Commitment". In 2003, MQI again rewarded SIL with its "Best Practice Award - Process Management" in recognition of the effective management of its business processes.
To realize our business goals and continually improve on our achievements, SIL decided to scale even greater heights. In 2003, SIL's Quality journey was changed by redesigning our quality system towards achieving both SEI's Capability Maturity Model (CMM) for software and ISO 9001:2000.
In 2009, SIL has upgraded from its (ISO 9001:2000) Certification to the ISO 9001:2008 Certification, thereby adding value to our customer businesses and hence .. taking them to new heights.

SIL advises on, designs and implements total & high availability solutions, in areas of ERP implementation , enterprise computing solutions, disaster recovery, software development, facility management, IT consultings, training and support services using innovative technologies from leading ICT players.
SIL provides solutions for the public and private sectors in particular for administration, pension, finance, banking, insurance, utilities, telecom & health.
SIL empowers its customers through end user training on applications, training on technologies and hand holding.
SIL, a learning organisation, with an innovative culture ensures the smooth running of the IT systems by providing a round the clock support service for business continuity facilities including a helpdesk facility.

1. SILNAM IT Solution (PTY) Ltd
SILNAM IT Solutions (Propriety) Ltd is a subsidiary company based in Namibia. It provides information technology products and services and nay related services in the African Region. SILNAM was originally set up in 2001.

2. SILNet and SILSoft
SIL also has 2 fully owned subsidiaries SILNet and SILSoft. SILNet operates the disaster recovery and business continuity activities whereas SILSoft conducts all offshore activities of the SIL Group of companies.
3. Elytis Ltd
SIL has invested in Elytis jointly with the Leal group. Elytis is mainly involved in the distribution of Microsoft and Symantec products for the Indian Ocean and French Pacific regions.
